Anne M. Turner, Esq.
Anne is a skilled transactional attorney with experience in intellectual property licensing and enforcement, trademark and copyright prosecution, and strategic portfolio development. She first joined the Hitchcock Evert team in 2005 and worked full-time for the firm while attending the evening Juris Doctorate program at SMU Dedman School of Law.
Anne’s coursework at SMU Dedman focused on intellectual property and business transactions. She completed courses in patent prosecution and enforcement, copyrights, international intellectual property, franchising, IP licensing, and commercial transactions. She earned her law degree in August 2012 and was licensed to practice in Texas in May 2013.
Since then, Anne has been integrally involved in all aspects of intellectual property in the context of prosecution, licensing, enforcement and litigation. She has particular expertise in strategic brand development, intellectual property licensing, managing international IP portfolios, and corporate transactions. She works with clients in such diverse industries as hospitality, consumer electronics, real estate development, non-profit, and healthcare on trademark prosecution, maintenance and enforcement matters worldwide and is well-versed in enforcements against counterfeit and gray market goods. Anne also assists clients in their corporate transactional matters, including IP due diligence for M&A agreements, acquisition and divestiture of IP assets, international commercial contracts, and complex IP license agreements.
Though her practice primarily focuses on intellectual property transactions and portfolio development, Anne has also assisted with research, discovery and drafting for litigation of patent, trade secret, copyright, trademark and trade dress disputes. She also has extensive experience in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings in trademark offices worldwide and resolving domain name disputes through the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy.
In addition to her busy practice, Anne has served as a teaching assistant for the Advanced Patent Litigation course at SMU Dedman School of Law and as a guest lecturer for the Intellectual Property for Paralegals course at Collin College.
